About.

Founded by Ally May Carey, Curare is a space for women.

Curare means “To take care of”, in Latin. This little space on the internet serves as a gentle reminder to, in fact, take care.

Just like you, Curare doesn’t fit into a one-size-fits-all box. It’s constantly evolving.

Curare explores the intersect of the many ways we, as women can take care of ourselves and the world around us. Be that sustainability, well-being, or relaxing our mind and connecting back to ourselves through escapism.

It’s real and honest and a place you can retreat when you need a moment for yourself. Through our articles, interviews and more, we hope you will find tips to better take care.

Curare is also dedicated to help likeminded women, who love to practice sustainable and eco-friendly shopping around the world, find incredible, one-of-a-kind second-hand and vintage clothing and homeware. Remember, when we buy vintage, we’re helping to reclaim and up-cycle clothes that otherwise might have ended up in landfill.

A note from Ally.

Hello, hi.

Welcome to Curare. Thank you for stopping by.

Curare has been a year in the making, which is far longer than I thought my little baby would take. I thought it would be closer to the gestation of a human baby, not a horse, but alas, here we are 12 months later.

I love exploring the intersect between well-being, art, mental health, sustainability. This space is for you to mentally engage, but also take some time out.

I really hope you enjoy this space.

To take care:

Care for you. Care for the environment. Care for your mind and your thoughts. Care for the ones you love. Care for your clothes, and you will have them forever. Care for others. Care for your goals. Care about how you spend your time. Care about your happiness.
